Harvard Business Case Competition winners will go to Oxford and Cambridge universities
AKFA Business School has organized the second annual Harvard Business Case Competition. This year 56 teams from Business, Medical, Engineering, Dental and Law schools of AKFA University participated in the competition. The teams received intensive trainings for a month by AKFA Business School professors and managers of KPMG on how to solve Harvard Business School cases. 16 teams have competed in the semifinal round, out of which 4 teams advanced to the final round.
The final round of Harvard Business Case Competition was held on May 7th at Hilton hotel in Tashkent. The finalist teams analyzed and presented their solutions for Harvard Business School case on Hilton hotel to a panel of judges. Dr. Odiljon Abdurazzakov, Founding Dean of AKFA Business School, opened the event and introduced the guests and judges participating from six countries, including the US, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Australia and Uzbekistan.
Team 15 consisting of third year students of AKFA Business School Khojiakbar Obobakirov, Diyora Nishonova, Hidoyat Sayfullaeva and Abbos Rasulov has emerged as the champion of this year’s Harvard Business Case Competition. They were awarded 25 million soums and free trip to Oxford and Cambridge universities. The teams who received the second and third places were awarded 15 and 10 million soums respectively.
The international guests and judges included Mr. Saad BinMatlig, Downstream Strategy & Capital Planning Manager at Saudi Aramco, Mr. Serkan Dilek, Country Manager of Coca-Cola, Prof. Dr. Markus Raueiser, Vice President of Cologne Business School, Prof. Dr. Travis Maynard, Associate Dean of the College of Business at Colorado State University, Prof. Dr. Seoung Woo Park, Vice President of Yeungnam University, Ms. İlke Homris, CFA, CFA Society İstanbul, Turkiye, Mr. Novruz Gadirzade, Director at SpaceStone, Sydney, Australia as well as Mr. Bayazid Malikov, MBA candidate at MIT. The list of local guests included Dr. Abdujabbor Abduvokhitov, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Akfa University, Dr. Alisher Shaykhov, Senior Advisor for UzVC National Venture Capital Fund, Mr. Pavel Kan, Director at KPMG, Mr. Hasan Mamasaidov and Mr. Husan Mamasaidov founders of MFaktor, Dekos, Uzbekistan and Mr. Botir Kobilov, Harvard Business School Doctoral Candidate.
